Pride of Maui is a family-owned Maui snorkeling and boat tour company operating from Māʻalaea Harbor since 1983, best known for our Molokini Crater snorkel tours. We run two power catamarans — the 65-foot Pride of Maui and the 62-foot ʻElua — and both morning Molokini tours also stop at Turtle Town to snorkel with green sea turtles when conditions allow. We also offer seasonal whale watching from December 16 to March 31.

The 65-foot Pride of Maui is a full-amenity catamaran — restrooms, warm showers, an indoor cabin, open-deck seating, and a water slide — and every morning Molokini tour also stops at Turtle Town, conditions permitting. We’ve been family-owned on Maui since 1983, and many of our captains and naturalists have crewed these waters for decades.
We visit pristine Maui snorkeling spots like Molokini Crater and Coral Gardens. Our guests will experience crystal-clear waters, a rich marine ecosystem, and opportunities to encounter colorful fish, turtles, and other marine life.
The best time for whale watching in Maui is from November through April, with peak season January through March, when the North Pacific humpback whales travel to Maui for their annual winter migration. Guests can witness these magnificent creatures breaching, tail-slapping, and socializing during this period.
The whales most commonly seen by visitors on a vacation to Maui are the North Pacific humpback whales. Many other species of whales are known to frequent the waters surrounding Maui though, like the False Killer Whale, Pygmy Killer Whale, Pilot Whale, and Orca. There have also been recorded sightings of Sperm Whales, which are extremely rare!
