What Should I Bring on a Snorkel Tour?

2 min read

Bringing a few key items can make your snorkel tour more comfortable and relaxed. Most essentials are provided onboard, so you don’t need to pack much.

Planning ahead helps your day start smoothly.

Essentials to Bring #

Guests commonly bring:

  • Reef-safe sunscreen
  • A towel
  • A hat and sunglasses
  • Comfortable clothing for before and after snorkeling
  • A light jacket or cover-up, especially in the morning
  • Any personal medications you may need

Keeping items minimal makes storage easier onboard.

Swimwear and Clothing #

It’s helpful to:

  • Wear your swimsuit under your clothes
  • Choose easy-on, easy-off footwear for the harbor
  • Bring dry clothes for after snorkeling if desired

Changing areas may be limited, so arriving ready to snorkel can save time.

Cameras and Personal Items #

You’re welcome to bring:

  • A phone or camera
  • Small personal items in a bag or backpack

Because the marine environment can be wet and salty:

  • Waterproof cases are recommended
  • Valuables should be kept to a minimum

Crew members can help direct you to appropriate storage areas onboard.

Items You Don’t Need to Bring #

Most snorkel tours provide:

  • Snorkel gear
  • Flotation options
  • Food and non-alcoholic beverages (depending on the tour)

Check your confirmation email for specific inclusions so you don’t bring unnecessary items.

What to Leave Behind #

For safety and space reasons, it’s best to avoid bringing:

  • Large bags or suitcases
  • Irreplaceable valuables
  • Loose items that could fall overboard

Traveling light helps keep the onboard environment organized and comfortable.

A Quick Day-Before Checklist #

The night before your tour:

  • Review your confirmation email
  • Set your navigation destination
  • Pack essentials in a small bag
  • Check the weather forecast

A little preparation goes a long way toward a stress-free experience.

Ready for the Day #

With the basics covered, the crew will handle the rest. From check-in to return, guidance is provided throughout the experience so you can focus on enjoying your time on the water with Pride of Maui.
