Pride of Maui welcomes guests with a wide range of mobility needs. While tours take place on the ocean and involve boarding a vessel, the crew aims to provide clear information and supportive assistance so guests can decide what feels right for them.
Accessibility can vary by vessel, conditions, and individual needs, so understanding what to expect is important.
Boarding and Dock Access #
Tours depart from a harbor dock with stable surfaces and standard marina access. Boarding involves stepping from the dock onto the vessel, which may include:
- A small step up or down
- Handholds or railings
- Crew assistance when needed
Dock conditions and vessel height can vary slightly depending on tides and ocean conditions.
Crew Assistance During Boarding #
Crew members are available to:
- Offer a steady hand during boarding
- Provide guidance on where to step
- Help guests move safely onto and off the vessel
Guests are encouraged to let staff know about any mobility concerns during check-in so assistance can be provided appropriately.
Moving Around the Vessel #
Once onboard, guests should expect:
- Designated seating areas
- Handrails in key areas
- A marine environment that may move with ocean conditions
Guests who prefer to remain seated during the tour are welcome to do so. Movement around the vessel is optional.
Snorkeling Participation Is Optional #
Snorkeling is not required to enjoy the tour.
Guests with mobility concerns may choose to:
- Remain onboard during snorkeling
- Enter the water only if they feel comfortable
- Enjoy the scenery from the deck
Crew members can explain options and help guests decide what feels safest.
Restrooms and Amenities #
Vessels are equipped with onboard restrooms. Access may involve:
- Steps or narrow passageways
- Typical marine restroom layouts
If restroom access is a concern, guests are encouraged to ask questions before boarding so expectations are clear.
Important Considerations Before Booking #
Because each guest’s needs are different, it’s helpful to:
- Review tour details carefully
- Consider personal comfort with steps and movement
- Contact the office ahead of time with specific questions
Providing details about your needs allows the team to give the most accurate guidance.
A Supportive, Informed Experience #
The goal is to help guests make informed decisions and feel supported throughout the experience. While full accessibility accommodations may not be possible for every situation, clear communication and crew assistance help many guests enjoy their time on the water comfortably.
