In the 1850s, Hui’s property was originally a part of the East Maui Sugar Plantation. In 1885 it was purchased by Henry Perrine Baldwin, then obtained by his son Harry Baldwin. The main home, also known as the Kaluanui Estate, was built by renowned architect C.W. Dickey in 1917. The essence of an Italian villa inspired the design of the house with an apparent Mediterranean influence in the finishes. It’s perched upon a hill with a beautiful courtyard, expansive lawns, mature trees, and coastline views.

Frank Lloyd Wright initially designed the very memorable pink “Clubhouse” (1949) to be a home for Marilyn Monroe and Arthur Miller.
