Four Seasons Maui Review

Close your eyes. Now imagine you’re in paradise, listening to the sound of the ocean, fruity cocktail in hand, sun shining, palm trees swaying, beautiful people and views everywhere, the distant sound of a ukulele, the smell of tropical flowers, and not a care in the world. Add a five-star resort into the mix, and you’ve found yourself at Four Seasons Maui at Wailea, one of our favorite places in all of Hawaii.

Four Seasons Maui

Unlike other big resorts in the area, and perhaps one of its best selling points, the Four Seasons doesn’t have to try too hard to be impressive. Everyone is calm, there are no frantic vacationers trying to find their way to the pool, and everything is exactly and perfectly accessible, convenient, relaxing and beautiful. Read our full review of the property below to see what you can expect in resort heaven.

01

Serenity Pool

Our property tour began with the Serenity Pool, an adults-only pool reserved for guests 21 and over. If you’re looking for a relaxing, quiet day outdoors, this is the spot. The infinity pool comes with unparalleled panoramic views of Wailea Beach, the West Maui Mountains, and the neighboring island of Lanai. Grab a complimentary pool lounge chair or reserve one of the six luxury cabanas. Some of their cabanas can include a flat-screen TV, a mini-bar with champagne, wireless headsets, a safe couch, and a ceiling fan.

For guests who enjoy listening to music by the pool, dive underwater, where you’ll hear the specially designed underwater music system. Grab a cocktail at the gorgeous swim-up pool bar or hop in one of the two jacuzzis and treat yourself to a day of resort bliss. Furnished by the Missoni Home Line, the Four Seasons plans on renovating their cabanas. We can’t imagine what would need to be updated, but we’ll leave it to the experts.

Keiki Pool

While watching your children enjoy sand for the first time can be fun, it’s not always equally amusing trying to remove it later. Enter the Keiki Pool, complete with a waterfall, slide, pool toys, and complimentary amenities. Amenities include chilled towels, sunscreen, aloe vera, and even frozen cherries passed out by the fantastic pool attendants. If that’s not worth avoiding a mouth full of sand, we don’t know what is.

03

Fountain Pool

Holy pool! This pool is everything you could dream of and then some. Heated perfectly to a comfy 82 degrees, the Fountain Pool offers 80 feet of pure relaxation. This Four Seasons Maui pool has whirlpools, poolside food and beverage services, and complimentary pool cabanas for you and your family and friends. If the urge arises, guests can even enjoy a cooling Evian spritz, cucumber slices for their eyes, and decompressing poolside spa treatments.

04

Oceanfront Lawn

Situated just below the Serenity Pool, the Oceanfront Lawn is the perfect place to post up in a hammock and let the warm ocean breeze do its magic. Suppose you’re planning on getting married on Maui. In that case, the lawn also doubles as the ideal spot for dreamy wedding ceremonies and receptions, backed by panoramic Pacific Ocean views and gorgeous South Maui sunsets. Are you planning on attending the Maui Film Festival? Don’t miss the Taste of Chocolate, a chocolate lover’s dream come true that’s held right on the Oceanfront Lawn.

05

Wailea Beach

No Maui resort is complete without a picturesque beach to accompany it. Wailea Beach is one of our favorite family-friendly options, a sprawling oasis of turquoise water, golden sand, spectacular views, and sunshine.
Catch some shade in one of the many complimentary chaise lounge beach chairs, a refreshing change from other resorts that require exactly additional chair deposits.

This shallow and sandy-bottomed beach is perfect for small children and older members of the family due to its calm nature. At the Four Seasons Maui beach, guests can also take advantage of daily activities like introductory reef diving, offsite diving, Rebreather & Nitrox diving, night diving, underwater scooters, and scuba certifications. Guests can also enjoy daily snorkeling rental for a small fee and introductory in-pool scuba lessons. Massage services in one of three available ocean-front hales are always a tempting idea for a truly relaxing treat.

During the North Pacific humpback whale migration to Maui every Winter, the Four Seasons Maui Resort proves to be one of the best places to on-shore whale watch in South Maui. Although this may seem redundant, the Four Seasons Resort is also one of the best places to watch the sunset in Maui. Even if you don’t stay here, have dinner at one of their excellent restaurants around sunset time. You will, for sure, be pleased, in awe of Maui’s grandeur, and catch some incredible photo opportunities.
